As the City of Detroit continues prioritizing public health and emergency preparedness, the Detroit Fire Department is teaming up with SaveMIHeart for the 10th Annual SaveMIHeart Conference. The event, dubbed "Pathways to Progress," is set to convene a diverse group ranging from medical professionals and first responders to survivors and community stakeholders on June 6, as reported by the City of Detroit. Interested individuals have until Friday, May 30, to register for the conference directly through the event's website or via Eventbrite.

The day's itinerary boasts a keynote address by Dr. Peter Antevy, Chief Medical Officer of Brevard County Fire Rescue, who will tackle redefining cardiac arrest response and recovery. The conference promises to impart knowledge and offer EMS CE credits with Western Michigan University, Homer Stryker, M.D. School of Medicine.

Closing out the event will be a session titled "Tale of Two HEARTSafe Communities: The Detroit and Holland Experience." This highlight is expected to showcase the strides made within different Michigan communities in bolstering their emergency response systems. A range of registration fees has been set, accommodating various professionals—$100 for physicians and discounted rates for physician assistants, nurses, dispatchers, law enforcement, students, and more. Notably, survivors and co-survivors of cardiac arrest are invited to attend at no charge.

The conference will unfold at the DoubleTree Suites by Hilton Hotel in Downtown Detroit, starting at 7 AM and running until 4:30 PM.
