
A Detroit teenager stands accused of multiple felonies after an alleged carjacking targeting a woman engaged in the service of feeding dogs. This crime unfolded at around 3:30 p.m. last Wednesday, as reported by CBS News Detroit. The suspect, identified as 17-year-old Dwayne Noah Alexander-Perdue, reportedly confronted the woman, a 47-year-old dog rescuer from Warren, while she was in the backyard of a residence on the 17400 block of Charest Street in Detroit.
The Wayne County Prosecutor's Office charged Alexander-Perdue as an adult with a litany of offenses including armed robbery and carjacking, this collision of alleged predatory action and selfless community service has rattled the local community, The Detroit News detailed accounts of the ordeal depicting the defendant brandishing a handgun to forcibly take the victim's car keys before fleeing in her car. Arrested later the same day, authorities highlighted the gravity of this encounter.
Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy was quoted vehemently condemning the act, "The victim in this case was providing an all too necessary service that is sorely needed in the City of Detroit," and labeling Alexander-Perdue's alleged deeds as "predatory, violent, unacceptable, and criminal," sentiments echoed in a report by CBS News Detroit.
