A Fillmore man, identified as 23-year-old Kristian Morfin, has been arrested in connection with multiple firearm and drug offenses, according to the Ventura County Sheriff's Office. After detectives from several units, including the Fillmore Investigations Bureau and Headquarters Detectives, conducted an investigation stretching from March to May, Morfin was taken into custody following a search operation on Friday morning.
Acting on information gathered during their investigation, detectives obtained a search warrant for Morfin, which spanned his vehicle and residence in Fillmore. To rapidly serve the warrants, detectives contacted Morfin at his workplace on the 1900 block of Eastman Avenue in Ventura at about 8:00 AM and proceeded to execute warrants at his home. The coordinated raids did uncover controlled substances, graffiti tools, and a stolen loaded semi-automatic handgun, which situated Morfin quickly in the grasp of law enforcement.
Morfin faces charges for possession of a controlled substance while armed with a firearm, grand theft firearm, carrying a loaded firearm in a vehicle, among other felonious violations. Following his arrest, he was booked at the Pre-Trial Detention Facility, where he awaits court proceedings.
