Firefighters were dispatched to a structure fire at a historical apartment building in Hollywood on the evening of May 6th. According to the Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD), the blaze was reported at 08:26 PM at 1732 N Whitley Avenue, involving a unit on the second floor of the two-story U-shaped building.
The emergency responders faced a challenge due to excessive personal storage within the building, which could have potentially hindered their efforts to quickly tackle the flames. Despite the obstacle, the LAFD stated that "36 LAFD Firefighters took just 17 minutes to access, confine and fully extinguish flames within one 2nd floor unit" of the building. The 13,008 square foot structure that dates back to 1926 saw the firefighters bring the situation under control in a display that underscores their relentless training and preparedness to safeguard the community.
Thankfully, the incident resulted in no injuries, as confirmed by the LAFD.
