A 55-year-old Frederick man faces multiple charges, including attempted child abduction and driving under the influence, after a Maryland State Trooper arrested him on Woodsboro Pike, Maryland State Police reported.

Gary Lee Plummer, of Walkersville, was pulled over by a trooper from the Frederick Barrack in his red Ford Taurus for suspected impaired driving at around 3 pm. During the stop, signs of impairment led to Plummer's arrest, according to the Maryland State Police's press release. In a chilling development, soon after the arrest, police received a report from two juvenile females claiming that Plummer had tried to physically coerce one of them into his vehicle before police stopped him.

The State’s Attorney's Office in Frederick County slapped Plummer with several serious charges: attempted kidnapping, two counts of second-degree assault, along with the DUI. He is now being held at the Frederick County Adult Detention Center, awaiting a district court commissioner's review of his case.

Authorities are asking the public to provide any information related to Plummer's actions. Anyone with details that might be relevant can contact the Frederick Barrack at 301-600-4151.
