The Adams Square Mini Park Gas Station is hosting a poignant art installation, Dream Stop, courtesy of the Delight Art Foundation, a non-profit organization with ties to Lumiere Art Studio. Scheduled to run from June 2 through July 25, 2025, this exhibit is more than just decoration, it cultivates local youth creativity, showcasing children's art that radiates their diverse identities and passions through self-portraits on boxes and paper planes scrawled with their visions for a grown-up free world, according to a statement on the city's official website.
Backed by the Glendale Arts and Culture Commission, courtesy of the city's Urban Art Program alongside support from a cluster of community-focused entities including Glendale Library, Arts & Culture, Glendale Community Services and Parks, and the Adams Hill Neighborhood Association, this project beyond its artistic merit, strives to shape the tykes as future contributors to society, by not only teaching them about the power of self-expression but also the art's potential to forge connections and serve as a vehicle for change "Delight Art Foundation aims to show that art can be the answer," a declaration from the instigators of this venture.
Speaking of the main event, Glendale Library, Arts & Culture, a substantial force in the local scene since 1907, incorporates a gaggle of neighborhood libraries and acts like a stimulant to transform Glendale into an arts hub, not forgetting the historic 1904 Brand Library & Art Center nestled within Leslie C. Brand's former mansion, and they are just a fraction of the support structure powering initiatives like Dream Stop.
Glendale, aptly dubbed the “Jewel City” and famous as L.A. County's fourth-largest city, prides itself on not only anchoring major industries but also fostering an ever-evolving canvas for arts and culture, its Arts and Culture Commission is hell-bent on embedding arts into the urban fabric, from how the city is designed, to how it develops economically, "to enrich the human experience, reinforce Glendale’s identity and civic pride through arts and culture," broadening the appeal to life and local business by cultivating a space where the arts are integrated into the routine dynamics of the city’s residents.
