A fire erupted at a warehouse in northwest Harris County earlier today, leading to an injury of a firefighter. According to ABC13, the blaze began around 12:30 a.m. on Belgold Street. The firefighter, who sustained a shoulder injury while on duty, was subsequently transported to the hospital and is expected to be discharged soon after receiving treatment.
Upon arrival at the scene, initial crews witnessed the flames extending through the rooftop of the warehouse and threatening to engulf neighboring buildings. Reinforcements from the Cypress Creek, Champions, and Klein Fire Departments were quickly summoned to aid in the emergency. They were able to douse the flames, which prevented any further damage to adjacent businesses, as reported by Click2Houston, which happened within a short span of 40 minutes, resulting in the building sustaining limited smoke damage.
Both news outlets have confirmed that the extent of the damage within the warehouse remains unclear and that the Harris County Fire Marshal’s Office is currently conducting an investigation to determine the cause of the fire. Amidst the charred debris and lingering smoke, first responders were also reported to have rescued a dog from the inferno, according to officials.
