Anderson Jr.'s involvement comes in the wake of over 43,000 car accidents in Houston since the year's start, prompting over 340 deployments of the Jaws of Life by the Houston Fire Department. The duration of events leading to Memorial Day weekend holds particular significance due to a noted spike in accidents, often underlining these weeks as the "100 Deadliest Days of Summer," according to CW39. Bearing witness to the physical exertion involved in rescuing crash victims, Anderson Jr. found himself in a sweat-soaked uniform after a few minutes, acknowledging the intensity of the firefighters' task.
Additionally, as Click2Houston notes, Anderson Jr. also used a USAA safe driving simulator and engaged with local emergency responders and the U.S. Coast Guard during the Sacks for Safety event.
