Howard County residents will have their voices heard in an upcoming community outreach meeting focused on the Oaktree Stormwater Pond Repair Project. Slated for June 10th at 6:00 p.m., the meeting will unfold at the Marvin Thomas Room within the Howard County Library System’s East Columbia Branch, near 9238 Curtis Drive in Columbia. With a vested interest in stormwater management, the Howard County Department of Public Works (DPW) aims to engage with local residents regarding the repair initiative that seeks to comply with the state’s environmental mandates.
Officials have emphasized the importance of public input and have invited community members to attend the informal gathering. An explanatory session on the design will precede a question-and-answer segment. According to the Howard County official announcement, county staff, alongside the project’s design consultant, will be in attendance to address inquiries and record public commentary.
For those unable to partake in person, alternative channels remain open to field questions and share plans. Interested individuals are encouraged to contact Bill Liu from DPW's Stormwater Management Division by calling 410-313-6416 or emailing at [email protected].
Funding for the Oaktree Stormwater Pond Repair Project is provided through the Watershed Protection and Restoration Fund. Anyone seeking further details or clarification can contact Howard County Public Works Customer Service by dialing 410-313-3440 or emailing [email protected].
