A Michigan-based Kentwood Public Schools district social worker has been apprehended for inappropriate communication with multiple students. CBS News Detroit reported that Dequindre Malik Wiggins, aged 26, faces allegations including accosting a minor for immoral purposes and using a computer to commit a crime.

According to WZZM13, the investigation into Wiggins began on May 9 after a parent reported to officials that her child was a recipient of Wiggins's inappropriate contact over online platforms. This prompt sparked a wider investigation by detectives and the school resource officer, which uncovered further communications with other students. A nationwide arrest warrant was issued for Wiggins on Wednesday.

Following the warrant issuance, Wiggins was located and arrested in Lexington, Kentucky, and is now waiting to be extradited. Superintendent Kevin Polston informed families through a letter that Wiggins is currently on administrative leave pending the outcome of the investigation.
