Firefighters were called to a fire that broke out in the attic of a Fairfax neighborhood tattoo studio in the early hours of the morning. The Los Angeles Fire Department responded to the scene at approximately 1:15 a.m., finding flames in the attic space above the shop located on a stretch of one-story commercial businesses at 647 N Poinsettia Pl, according to a KTLA report.
Engaging in what was described as "offensive firefighting operations," the LAFD faced the challenge of extinguishing the stubborn flames, as stated by the official LAFD Alert. Composed of a nearly century-old building, constructed in the year 1932, the structure's old age could have been a complicating factor in the fire response, although the LAFD has yet to confirm any such difficulties arising during their operations, as per the details in a LAFD alert.
The blaze required the concerted efforts of 95 LAFD firefighters who worked for 49 minutes to contain it. According to another LAFD alert, the fire was successfully confined to the attic, preventing it from spreading to adjacent businesses in the row of commercial properties, which collectively measure 7,370 square feet.
Fortunately, the event saw no injuries reported.
