The National Weather Service in Las Vegas forecasts calm weather through Friday, followed by stronger winds, possible rain, and cooler temperatures over the weekend. Residents are advised to prepare for changing conditions, according to the National Weather Service.
“Southerly winds will start to increase Friday and Friday night, well ahead of the low pressure system which will be discussed in the long term section.” Friday night will be calm with temperatures nearing seasonal averages, but from Saturday through Wednesday, a low pressure system will bring cooler air and potential thunderstorms, especially in central Nye and northern Lincoln counties. West-southwest gusts could exceed 40 mph along the Interstate 15 corridor on Saturday. Conditions should calm by Monday, with temperatures around 90 degrees and a "Moderate" HeatRisk for the week, as stated by the National Weather Service.
The National Weather Service reports that at Harry Reid Airport, "light and variable winds will continue through later this afternoon when winds will pick up slightly and swing to the west-southwest." Visual Flight Rules conditions are expected. Weather spotters are asked to report any significant weather following usual procedures as the weekend’s weather develops.
