Las Vegas Fire & Rescue has been accredited by the Commission on Fire Accreditation International. The Commission on Fire Accreditation International stated that Las Vegas Fire & Rescue has undergone a detailed evaluation and meets established industry standards, according to the City of Las Vegas.
"CFAI accreditation is a direct reflection of our members' unwavering commitment to excellence, transparency and continuous improvement," Fire Chief Fernando Gray said in a bulletin released by the City of Las Vegas. The accreditation requires the department to compare its practices to established standards and work to improve them. For Las Vegas Fire and Rescue, this includes assessing community risks, setting safety goals, and maintaining ongoing operational improvements.
Las Vegas Fire & Rescue completed a multi-year process of self-assessment and improvement before presenting their operations to the Commission on Fire Accreditation International in Orlando earlier this year. The accreditation evaluates tactical readiness, training, strategic planning, and community involvement. Las Vegas Fire & Rescue received the accreditation alongside its ISO class 1 rating, as reported by the City of Las Vegas.
