
Tragedy struck a local business on East Charleston Boulevard this past Wednesday, when a dispute over a firearm escalated to deadly violence. The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD) reported that they received calls around 4:48 p.m. on Friday, alerting them to a shooting incident. Officers who arrived on scene found a male victim with a gunshot wound, who was subsequently pronounced dead by medical personnel.
Law enforcement officials quickly identified and apprehended a suspect, 36-year-old Kyle Capucci, who was taken into custody without further incident, LVMPD communicated in a press release. Adding a complex layer to the story, investigators discovered that the altercation began when the victim, openly carrying a firearm while shopping, was approached by Capucci. The suspect's erratic behavior prompted a struggle for control of the weapon, during which Capucci, managed to wrest the firearm away and shoot the victim.
Following the incident, Capucci fled the scene but left behind the firearm used in the shooting. He was later arrested and faces charges for Open Murder with a Deadly Weapon, as disclosed by the LVMPD. Further information on the victim's identity and the official cause and manner of death will be released by the Clark County Coroner's Office.
