Las Vegas will see temperatures return to normal as the week progresses. After morning showers clear to the north, skies will be mostly clear. The National Weather Service reports, "Temperatures will be near to slightly warmer than yesterday over most of the area, followed by several degrees of warming Thursday which will push temps up to near normal for mid May." A weather system over the weekend may bring strong winds and rain showers.
A weather system is expected to arrive by Friday, bringing increasing winds from the south and southwest. On Saturday, winds will be very strong, with potential rain showers over the weekend. "The precise depth and trajectory of this system remain in question, and subtle changes will dictate how strong winds will be as well as where the strongest winds will be observed, along with associated precipitation chances." After the weekend, cooler temperatures are expected before warming up again, according to the National Weather Service.
Winds at Harry Reid International Airport are expected to remain from the northwest at 15 to 25 knots through the afternoon, easing tonight. Light and variable breezes are forecast for tomorrow morning. Similar wind conditions are expected in southern Nevada, northwest Arizona, and southeast California, with updates provided to keep aviation personnel informed of any changes, as stated by the National Weather Service.
