
A fire that broke out in a South Park residence has been extinguished, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD). The fire at 146 W 58th St was reported to have started yesterday evening and was swiftly brought under control by responding firefighters. LAFD's alert stated that the flames were doused within 15 minutes of the fire department's arrival at the scene.
The incident, cataloged as INC#1483, saw 42 firefighters quickly arrive at the location just after 6:00 P.M. They found smoke issuing from a 1,200 square-foot one-story home, positioned at the back of a residential property, as the LAFD's alert noted: "The first of 42 LAFD Firefighters arrived quickly to find smoke showing from a 1200 square-foot one story home at the rear of a residential property, and immediately commenced an offensive interior attack on the flames." During the operation, one occupant was discovered and successfully rescued from the residence.
The individual rescued from the burning home was subsequently transported to a local hospital; their condition remains undisclosed. Fortunately, no firefighter injuries were reported from the event. The LAFD is currently investigating to determine the cause of the fire. The incident occurred within the jurisdiction of Council District 9.
Units responding to the fire included Battalion Chiefs 11 and 13, Engines 21, 46, and several Tactical Units alongside hazmat and ambulance crews. "During fire attack, firefighters discovered and rescued one occupant from the burning residence," the department elaborated.
