A young man was fatally shot early Sunday in North Hills, prompting a police investigation that's currently underway. According to the Los Angeles Police Department, officers responded to a call at about 4:45 a.m. in the 8700 block of Parthenia Place. On arrival, they discovered a 24-year-old Hispanic man on the ground with a gunshot wound, as reported by KTLA. The Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics were at the scene and declared the man dead.
The identity of the victim is currently withheld, as authorities wait to notify his next of kin. In a search for answers and an appeal for public assistance, the Valley Bureau Homicide detectives are asking anyone with information to come forward. As of yet, they have not released any suspect information or a possible motive for the shooting.
