A serious accident involving three vehicles in Victorville Sunday afternoon has resulted in two drivers being hospitalized with major injuries, as per local authorities. The Victorville Police Station, along with emergency personnel from the Victorville Fire Department and American Medical Response, were called to the scene at the intersection of Mojave Drive and Diamond Road after the collision occurred at around 3:05 p.m.
The crash investigation, led by the Victorville Major Accident Investigation Team, revealed that a gray Ford Mustang lost control on the wet roadway while traveling eastbound on Mojave Drive. After striking the center median, the Mustang veered into oncoming traffic and collided head-on with a white Honda Civic, then spun and hit a white Mercedes-Benz GLA. While the Mercedes-Benz driver escaped injury, the drivers of the Ford and Honda were less fortunate, sustaining severe injuries and requiring transportation to a trauma center, according to a statement from the San Bernardino County Sheriff-Coroner Department.
As the investigation continued, a section of Mojave Drive between Diamond Road and Cobalt Road was closed off. The authorities have requested that anyone with information about the incident contact the Victorville Police Station or the Sheriff’s Dispatch.
