The Metropolitan Police Department is actively looking for the public's help to identify a suspect involved in an assault incident that took place in the Northwest area of the city. The assault, which involved the use of a bottle as a weapon, occurred on the evening of May 6, according to the MPD reports.

It was around 9:43 p.m. when officers were called to the 1600 block of 7th Street, Northwest. There, they learned that a man had tried to violently stab someone with a broken glass bottle inside a building before making his exit. The same suspect then proceeded to confront a second person, who was seated in a vehicle outside the establishment. A struggle ensued, with the assailant threatening the individual before finally choosing to flee the scene. No injuries from either confrontation have been reported.

The incident was caught on surveillance footage. The police have released photographs of the suspect in the hopes that someone might recognize him and come forward with information.

Authorities are urging anyone who can identify the suspect or has any information regarding the incident to contact the police. They emphasize that individuals should not approach the suspect but should instead call the police at (202) 727-9099 or text their tip to the department's TEXT TIP LINE at 50411. The Metropolitan Police Department is also offering a reward up to $1,000 for information that leads directly to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons behind this violent crime in the District of Columbia.
