The National Weather Service in Milwaukee provided an update early this morning, detailing that the light rain that greeted residents will mostly clear up, leaving behind a mostly sunny day with highs inching towards the upper 40s. Winds coming from the northeast at 10 to 15 mph added a brisk feel to the air, putting the wind chill at a biting 32°F. Milwaukeeans should expect a partly cloudy sky tonight, with the temperatures hovering around 39°F as the north wind slows to 5 to 10 mph, according to the NWS Milwaukee.
Looking ahead to the weekend, Sunday won’t stray far from today’s script. There’s a slight 20 percent chance of showers after 1pm, with partly sunny skies and highs reaching more agreeable territory near 52 degrees. However, clouds are scheduled to roll in by Sunday night, bringing a 50 percent chance of showers and keeping lows at around 44°F. Turning the corner into the workweek under cloudy skies, Monday will offer a 30 percent chance of morning showers before becoming mostly cloudy with similar highs near 52°F, the NWS Milwaukee reports.
The rest of the week seems to offer a reprieve from the rain, leaning into sunnier days that harken to the approach of summer warmth. Tuesday’s forecast is optimistic with mostly sunny skies and higher temperatures near 64°F, setting the stage for a string of partly sunny to sunny days continuing through to Friday, when highs are expected to tick up to around 62°F.
While the grips of spring’s fickleness are yet loathe to let go entirely, Milwaukee’s week ahead suggests a gradual warming trend, promising to defrost its chill-infused winds and dampened spirits. The NWS Milwaukee has the detailed forecast suggesting that by next Tuesday night, the city can look forward to partly cloudy conditions with lows around 47°F, and southeast winds around 5 mph that become west after midnight—a subtle, but sure signal of the seasonal shift.
