Milwaukee is reeling after a triple shooting late Tuesday night near 37th and Lancaster avenue. CBS 58 reported the incident took place just after 10 p.m., where a 29-year-old was shot, enduring non-fatal injuries, while two others—a 22-year-old and a third individual whose age is currently unknown—were seriously injured.
All three victims were rushed to local hospitals, with the ongoing investigation witnessed by the Milwaukee police as they work to gather information. As the hunt for the unknown suspects continues, these streets, once wrapped in the cloak of night, are now gripped by the fearsome echo of gunfire. TMJ4 added detail by specifying that the 22-year-old, along with the unidentified victim, sustained serious gunshot wounds.
This violent episode contributes to a disturbing trend in the city's crime statistics. WISN notes a sharp rise in gun violence with 42 shootings occurring between April 16 and Tuesday, May 13, significantly up from 28 the previous month. However, despite the alarming increment in recent shootings, year-to-date data reveals non-fatal shootings are down—with 166 instances so far in 2025 compared to 200 at the same time in 2024.
While the police were searching for the missing suspects, Milwaukee's homicide count is moving in an opposite, unnerving direction. According to WISN, in nearly a month's span from mid-April to mid-May, the city has seen a near tripling in homicides. Urging members of the community with any relevant information to come forward, the police have reached out through various channels. Calls can be made to the Milwaukee Police at 414-935-7360, or anonymously through Crime Stoppers at 414-224-TIPS or using the P3 Tips app.
