Motorists in Nevada, gear up for a series of traffic disruptions as the Interstate 15 (I-15) undergoes significant changes to accommodate a widening project. The Nevada Department of Transportation (NDOT) has laid out a clear schedule for lane and ramp closures set to affect both the ease and patterns of your daily commutes. Starting at 8:00 p.m. on Monday, May 5, and stretching into the wee hours of the following day, northbound I-15 traffic will find itself reduced to a single lane from Cactus Ave to Silverado Ranch Blvd, while southbound voyagers will similarly wrestle with a cutback to two lanes from Warm Springs Rd to Blue Diamond Rd, according to NDOT.

Drivers should prepare for delays as the eastbound I-215 merge onto southbound I-15 will be reduced to one lane. If your plans depend on smooth traffic, consider using alternate routes to avoid congestion. Starting the night of May 5 and lasting through the morning of May 19, the southbound I-15 auxiliary lane from Warm Springs Road to Blue Diamond Road will be closed. Although three lanes will stay open, losing one may still cause noticeable slowdowns for commuters.

On Tuesday night, May 6, southbound I-15 will be reduced to just one lane between Blue Diamond Road and Silverado Ranch Boulevard. The off-ramp from southbound I-15 to Silverado Ranch Blvd will close at 8:00 p.m. and reopen at midnight. Right after that, the on-ramp from Silverado Ranch Blvd to southbound I-15 will close at midnight and stay shut until 5:00 a.m. the next morning. NDOT strongly urges drivers to use caution in these areas and consider detour routes to avoid delays.
