In a move that strengthens the bridge between military service and higher education, The Ohio State University's Fisher College of Business teams up with the National Veterans Leadership Foundation once again to introduce a new scholarship program specifically designed for veterans eyeing a full-time MBA, as detailed in a report by Ohio State News. Trevor Brown, interim dean at Fisher, highlighted the value of veterans in the academic community, stating, "We are pleased to expand our work with the National Veterans Leadership Foundation to create yet another pathway for veterans to access a career-shaping business education while redefining and repurposing the valuable experiences they gained as members of the military."

The inception of the Full-Time MBA (FTMBA) scholarships follows Fisher's previous collaboration with the NVLF in October 2024, which offered military-connected individuals access to specialized executive education programs, Lori Kendall, academic director of the FTMBA at Fisher, emphasized that veterans bring leadership and unique perspectives to the classroom and these scholarships aim to support their journey to become agile, principled business leaders and military-affiliated students accounted for 11% of the 2024 incoming FTMBA class, indicating a steady rise in veteran enrollment in business programs.

Ohio State's commitment to veterans surpasses academic programs; US News & World Report's 2025 rankings placed the university 15th among public institutions and 22nd overall for military-connected students, boasting a significant population of over 2,100 military-connected students and around 1,600 faculty and staff who have served in the armed forces, signaling a comprehensive support system for this demographic on campus. In a statement obtained by Ohio State News, Jim Miller, president of the NVLF, remarked, "These new scholarships strengthen the university’s and Fisher’s standing as institutions committed to our veterans."

The new scholarships are open for application to qualified veterans and military-connected individuals aimed for entry in Autumn 2025 with Fisher and Ohio State continually being acknowledged, by the likes of USA Today and Military Times, for their dedication to such students, the final application deadline is looming, set for June 6, interested candidates should mark their calendars to take advantage of this opportunity.
