Palmdale City's Farmers Market is returning, bringing fresh produce and artisanal goodies every Friday night. Starting May 16, the Palmdale Oasis Park Recreation Center at 3850 E. Ave. S will host the market from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m., as reported by the City of Palmdale's official announcement.
In partnership with the non-profit Raw Inspiration, Palmdale is reviving its seasonal tradition, excluding a brief hiatus on July 4, with a lineup that spans from farm-fresh veggies to handmade crafts, effectively turning Friday evenings into a community hub. EBT cardholders are welcome, ensuring that wholesome, nutritious offerings are reachable for all who call Palmdale home.
"Our farmers market connects families with delicious locally-sourced produce," said Mayor Richard J. Loa in a statement that underscores the city's dedication to fostering healthy lifestyles and a sense of community. To keep the atmosphere lively, the Farmers Market will pepper its schedule with a medley of live performances, starting with the Susie Hansen Latin Band on opening night.
Mayor Pro Tem Laura Bettencourt expressed her enthusiasm for the event's entertainment roster, which includes groups like Almas Mexicanas of the Antelope Valley and The Smokin' Cobras, as detailed by the city's press release. "I encourage everyone to come out and enjoy the music and support our local vendors while creating special memories at our beautiful Oasis Park setting," Bettencourt told those who shared in the excitement for the upcoming festivities.
For more information or for local businesses looking to join the vendor lineup, Raw Inspiration remains the point of contact. Palmdale's Farmers Market is set to offer free admission, unfurling a diverse fabric of local talent and fresh produce every week, all the way through October 31.
