A Southern California man faces charges after police accused him of using his neighbor's WiFi to distribute child pornography. According to the Redlands Police Department, Dimas Omar Montoya, 30, was arrested in his Redlands home for having over 1,300 images of child sexual abuse material (CSAM) stored in various online accounts.

Details emerged following an investigation sparked by a CyberTip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC), leading to the search and Montoya's subsequent arrest on Wednesday afternoon. The search warrant executed at his residence in the 100 block of West Colton Avenue uncovered a trove of illegal content on platforms such as Kik and Google accounts, as reported by KTLA. Originally, suspicion fell on Montoya's neighbors. However, after further investigation, officers cleared them of any wrongdoing, determining that their WiFi had been used without their knowledge.

Montoya is now being detained at the Central Detention Center in San Bernardino, with bail set at $30,000. The Redlands Police Department, through their official Facebook page, called for anyone with information regarding the case or additional leads to contact Detective Dale Peters, as community involvement is often vital in such investigations.
