
The City of Sacramento released an update for the week of May 12 to May 18 detailing actions taken by the City’s Incident Management Team related to homelessness. According to the City of Sacramento, officials responded to multiple incidents involving unsheltered individuals during this period.
The City’s 311 customer service received 871 calls related to unsheltered individuals. A total of 691 calls were closed, defined as cases where “either the issue was remedied, compliance was achieved, or the issue no longer existed when City staff inspected the site.” The Department of Community Response enrolled 73 individuals into local shelter and resource databases, and 30 were placed at the Roseville Road campus or the Outreach and Engagement Center, as reported by the City of Sacramento.
On Tuesday, the Roseville Road campus had “zero Pallet homes and zero trailers available,” while the Outreach and Engagement Center had 13 spaces open. Other City-funded shelters averaged 19 available spaces. The City of Sacramento has removed 167,200 pounds of trash from areas affected by homelessness. A data dashboard with weekly updates since September 2023 is available to track outreach, compliance, and cleanup efforts.
