San Antonio authorities are on the lookout for two individuals involved in a shooting incident involving a group of teenagers, which occurred early in the morning near the downtown area. According to reports from FOX San Antonio, police were alerted to gunfire around 1:22 a.m. near the 300 block of Blum Street. Responding to the sounds of shots fired, officers soon learned of the attack on the teenagers.
The victims, aged between 16 and 17, reportedly encountered two masked assailants in a dark SUV. In a chaotic moment, shots rang out but, fortunately, none of the teens sustained injuries from the gunfire. The encounter sent them running for safety, during an hour where silence ought to have been sovereign but was shattered by violence. News 4 San Antonio further reports that the nearby La Quinta Hotel also became an unintended target during the incident, having been struck multiple times.
As of now, the San Antonio Police Department has not taken any suspects into custody. The motive behind the shooting is still unclear, and police are persisting in their search for the masked gunmen. Both news outlets have highlighted the ongoing investigation, and authorities are likely analyzing surveillance footage and conducting interviews to gather more information.
No description of the suspects' SUV has been provided beyond its dark color, a detail that may prove to be a needle in a citywide haystack of vehicles.
