A San Marcos man is currently behind bars after local police carried out a substantial drug bust, which led to the seizure of a wide array of narcotics, weapons, and cash from a residence in the city. The accused, 28-year-old Erik Lee Cadena, is facing multiple charges following the discovery of illegal substances and firearms in his home situated on Hughson Drive.

In a strategy designed to staunchly combat the flow of drugs into the community, the San Marcos Police Department, acting on a tip from an alert citizen, acted quickly to secure a search warrant. The Narcotics Division was able to successfully uncover and confiscate 846 grams of cocaine, an assortment of MDMA, a large volume of liquid THC, and various other controlled substances. As reported by KENS 5, the recovered haul included over 1,400 MDMA pills and nearly 4,000 pills of Adderall among other drugs.

Furthermore, the inventory of recovered items also featured an alarming quantity of weaponry. Officers found and confiscated four pistols, nine rifles, two shotguns, and a number of high-capacity magazines. The operation proved to be not only a triumph in the campaign against narcotics but also a significant measure to prevent potential violence subsequent to removing these firearms from circulation. Over $2,800 in cash and luxury items such as a Louis Vuitton backpack were also seized during the bust.

Cadena now faces five counts of manufacture/delivery of a controlled substance over 400 grams, charges that fall into the category of a first-degree felony. According to a FOX San Antonio report, the narcotics included substances ranging from cocaine to various psychotropic pills. Cadena's arrest is a significant blow to the local drug trade, potentially disrupting an extensive network involved in the distribution of controlled substances.

The San Marcos Police Department has since encouraged the community to remain vigilant and to report any suspicious activities. The SMPD can be contacted at 512-754-2204 by anyone with information regarding similar activities.
