Residents of San Marino are on edge following a violent home invasion that took place on Duarte Road. Four suspects, believed to be responsible for the attack and robbery, are currently being sought by law enforcement. According to KTLA, the masked individuals entered the home around midnight Wednesday, armed and aggressive. The homeowner was struck in the head and arm with a blunt object during the confrontation, and was later seen receiving medical treatment before being taken to the hospital for further evaluation.
Adding to the victims' nightmare, one perpetrator brandished a pistol, demanding money, as reported by the authorities. The San Marino Police Department Chief John Incontro detailed that the suspects "went through the home very quickly and left," a statement provided by NBC Los Angeles. The burglars managed to apparently make off with jewelry and a watch, a crime sadly becoming all too common in suburban landscapes.
Operationally, little is known about the assailants at this time. Police have yet to publicly identify the make or the model of the sedan the suspects used both to arrive at and to quickly leave the victim's property. Home surveillance video, however, did capture the suspects in dark clothing and face coverings; footage is now under review by police detectives. With an urgent call to action, the San Marino Police Department is asking anyone with information to step forward, urging community members to contact them at 626-300-0720. "The victim indicated that jewelry and a watch were missing from his home following the incident," as recounted by the officials through KTLA.
The search for the home invaders has engaged the full resources of the San Marino Police Department. Residents are reminded to remain vigilant, lock windows and doors, and report any suspicious activity. As Chief Incontro emphasized, "He cooperated. Everybody in the home cooperated," underscoring the importance of compliance in such dangerous circumstances.
