
Harris County law enforcement is currently conducting a search for a suspect involved in a fatal hit-and-run incident that took place in North Houston. A vehicle struck and killed a 76-year-old pedestrian near the intersection of 5400 Northcrest Village Way and 21300 Parham Circle, as reported by FOX 26 Houston. The victim, following the collision on Tuesday, was transported to a hospital but was later pronounced dead.
Constable Mark Herman's Office has released a description of the suspect vehicle, believed to be a 2015 to 2019 Chevy Malibu with distinct chrome moldings around the windows and silver wheels. The car will also be missing it's right side mirror and will have visible damage to the right quarter, according to the same report by FOX 26 Houston. The last known direction of the vehicle was southbound on Northcrest Village Way, and it may have turned onto FM 2920.
Further details from Click2Houston state that the incident occurred between 7:45 and 8 p.m. on Tuesday evening. Harris County Constable Precinct 4 is urging local residents and business owners to comb through any surveillance footage, including doorbell and dash camera videos, captured during the time of the collision, in hopes that they may shed light on the identity of the driver.
Authorities emphasize the importance of the public's assistance to apprehend the individual responsible for the fatality. Anyone with potential leads or relevant footage is encouraged to reach out to the Harris County Sheriff's Office or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS (8477). "Investigators are asking residents and businesses to check any surveillance, doorbell, or dash camera footage from the time of the incident," a statement obtained by Click2Houston emphasizes the need for community involvement in the ongoing investigation.
