In observance of Memorial Day, the City of South Milwaukee has announced that all City Administration offices will be shuttering their doors on Monday, May 26, according to a statement on the city’s official website. However, citizens in need can rest assured that emergency services will maintain normal operations during the holiday.
Regular business hours for the City Administration office are set to resume on Tuesday, May 27, ensuring that any paused proceedings or inquiries will once again move forward; public servants will return to their posts, and the machinery of municipal governance will continue its rhythm. In preparation for the short hiatus, the Self-Deposit Station will adhere to its usual hours, welcoming the community today, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., offering a window of time for residents to tend to their specific needs before the holiday pause.
Adjustments to refuse collection have also been addressed, as the "yellow" route won’t see the familiar sight of garbage and recycling trucks on the holiday Monday. Instead, pickup for these services will be brought forward yesterday, and again the following week on Friday, May 30, ensuring that the buildup of waste doesn’t become a concern for households along this route.
The remainder of the city's garbage and recycling collection services is set to continue undisturbed, maintaining the balance of cleanliness and order that residents rely upon, this means that apart from the “yellow” route citizens can expect their waste to be whisked away with the same regularity as it has always been, the rhythm of refuse removal remaining as steady as the flow of time itself.
