SpaceX is ready to add more satellites to its constellation tonight with a Falcon 9 launch from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station. According to WFTV, 28 new Starlink satellites are slated to bolster SpaceX's growing global internet network as they are placed into low-Earth orbit. The event is scheduled for a 9:51 p.m. EDT liftoff, marking the 18th launch for the rocket's first stage booster.
Following the doubleheader from United Launch Alliance and SpaceX on Monday, the latter appears unstoppable as it continues to expand its infrastructure rapidly. According to a report by Florida Today, SpaceX has deployed over 8,000 Starlink satellites in orbit, a network designed to provide internet access to remote areas worldwide. Launching from Space Launch Complex 40, the Falcon 9 aims to expand these broadband services rapidly.
Post-launch, spectators can turn their eyes toward the Atlantic Ocean as the first-stage booster attempts to land precisely on SpaceX's droneship 'Just Read the Instructions'. This operation, once again showcasing SpaceX's dedication to reusability and cost efficiency, is expected to occur roughly eight minutes after the initial ascent. Space Coast Daily details that viewers can catch this live event, along with the entire launch, on their Space Coast Daily TV service.
