The high is expected to hover near a brisk 49 degrees Fahrenheit, under the influence of strong east winds blowing at 20 to 25 mph, capable of gusting up to 35 mph. The National Weather Service has warned of new rainfall amounts ranging from three quarters to one inch, advising residents to stay prepared for possible ponding on roads and minor river rises.
Tonight's weather isn't looking much better, with an 80% chance of continued showers and potential thunderstorms. Temperatures are set to drop to a low around 45 degrees, while the winds, remain strong, now blowing from the east at 15 to 20 mph with gusts that could reach 30 mph. The National Weather Service has projected new precipitation amounts between a quarter and half of an inch. The gusty conditions have prompted a caution for securing loose outdoor items.
The wet weather is set to continue through Wednesday, with a 90% chance of showers and high temperatures once again struggling to break past the high 40s. Northeast winds will dominate at approximately 15 mph. By Wednesday night, the likelihood of showers dims slightly to 60%, with cloudy skies and lows around 44 degrees. The north wind, will settle around 10 mph, and new precipitation could add up to less than a tenth of an inch, as reported by the National Weather Service.
Looking ahead, there's a slight chance of showers on Thursday before 1 pm, but the skies are expected to clear somewhat, giving way to partly sunny conditions and a high near 55 degrees. The wind shifts to the north at 10 to 15 mph. Friday offers a reprieve from the downpour with partly sunny skies and highs in the mid-50s and cooler nighttime temperatures around 41 degrees. Those planning for Memorial Day weekend should take note, the National Weather Service anticipates mostly sunny days ahead, though there remains a slight chance of showers on Sunday night and Memorial Day itself, with highs staying close to the 59-degree mark.
The National Weather Service has also released a Hazardous Weather Outlook for the region including Marquette, Green Lake, Fond du Lac, and several other counties.
