A high-speed chase in downtown Las Vegas ended with the arrest of a suspect in a stolen vehicle. The chase began on Tuesday morning near Charleston and Fremont. Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department's Air Unit, AIR2, tracked the vehicle as it drove into oncoming traffic, leading ground officers to stop their pursuit for safety reasons.
A person driving a stolen car continued through the Central Valley and abandoned the vehicle near Rancho and US 95. The suspect ran through residential backyards and entered the roofs and courtyards of a nearby school. After returning to the neighborhood, the suspect was caught shortly after, as reported by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department.
According to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department on their Facebook page, a suspect was taken into custody following a coordinated effort by aerial support, patrol officers, and the K9 unit. The department shared a video of the incident, describing the response as "great teamwork." No injuries or property damage were reported. The suspect’s identity and charges have not been released.
