Alhambra law enforcement recently made an arrest following a call about suspicious activity on S. Cordova St. According to the Alhambra Police Department's Facebook post, officers were dispatched to the 1800 block after reports of individuals clad in camouflage and orange vests, attempting to disguise their true intentions. The police utilized a drone, which revealed one suspect trying to pry off a window screen while the other posed unconvincingly as a gardener.
The suspects attempted to flee the scene upon noticing police presence, leading to a neighborhood chase. The Alhambra Police, with aid from Pasadena Police Department's K9 unit, managed to apprehend one of the suspects after he shed some of his clothes to blend in, hiding in a nearby yard. He was a Colombian national, and his possession of burglary tools, ranging from crowbars and radios to Wi-Fi jammers and screwdrivers, hinted at possible links to a South American Theft Group.
Identified as Juan Castro from Los Angeles, the apprehended suspect was charged and subsequently received medical treatment at a hospital. The ongoing investigation led by Alhambra detectives persists as they work to locate the second suspect involved in the incident. The authorities encourage anyone with information to come forward as they continue piecing together the elements of this case.
