A Southern California man, Nitun "Nate" Dayalghai Ahir, was arraigned Monday for practicing medicine without a license, with this incident happening shortly after a previous arrest on similar charges, as per a release from the Ventura County District Attorney's office. Ahir, age 44 from Thousand Oaks, was arrested after complaints alleging he continued to treat patients at Regen Spine & Nerve in Ventura while not holding any medical license in California or any other state, KTLA reports.

Out on bail from his first arrest last month, Ahir defied explicit orders to cease any medical activities. As reported by KTLA, the terms were clear: he was told "not to provide any medical services to any patients, offer any services or take any payments" or risk returning to custody. Despite these clear orders, Ahir was allegedly involved again in healthcare services, with complaints leading to the current charges against him.

The new allegations against Ahir include unlawful provision of medical services and falsely using the term "Doctor" and the "Dr." prefix to suggest he holds a medical license. Ventura County Superior Court Judge David Hirsch made bail conditions that if Ahir practiced medicine, solicited medical business, attempted to treat patients, or received compensation for medical work, he would be remanded into custody, as outlined in a document obtained by the Ventura County District Attorney's Office.

The District Attorney's Office is urging the public to come forward if they have been treated by Ahir and to check the licensure status of any healthcare providers they visit. The ongoing investigation is led by the Department of Consumer Affairs, Health Quality Investigations Unit, and those with information are encouraged to contact Investigator Eric Jensen. Ahir's cases are set for an early disposition conference on June 25, and following his posting of a $50,000 bail, Ahir remains out of custody.
