In a daylight robbery, two juveniles armed with a gun held up victims in Victorville, leading to their subsequent arrest. According to the San Bernardino County Sheriff-Coroner Department's report, the incident occurred on the 15200 block of Hook Boulevard, where deputies were alerted to a victim who had their iPhone stolen at gunpoint by a trio of male juveniles on Thursday afternoon.
Deputies later apprehended two of the suspects, aged 15 and 16, in a dirt field after they attempted to escape on foot. The third suspect remains at large. A Polymer-80 handgun complete with an extended magazine was recovered at the scene. Adding to the urgency, a second victim reported a similar confrontation involving a gun at the intersection of Hook Boulevard and Arlette Drive, where the description of the assailants matched those of the earlier robbery.
The 15-year-old suspect faces serious charges including robbery, criminal conspiracy, assault with a deadly weapon, criminal threats, possession of a loaded firearm by a non-registered owner, and possession of a large capacity magazine. According to the authorities, the 16-year-old was booked on charges of robbery, assault on a public official, and criminal conspiracy. Both have been placed in the High Desert Juvenile Detention and Assessment Center.
The Sheriff's Department is continuing its investigation into the incidents and has asked for public assistance.
