
Tragedy struck Long Beach early Wednesday morning as two men were killed in a head-on collision believed to involve a wrong-way driver, according to FOX LA. Long Beach Police Department officials responded to the incident which took place around 6:20 a.m. at the intersection of 7th Street and Terraine Avenue, near Recreation Park.
Upon arrival, firefighters declared the two men dead at the scene, their lives claimed by a violent encounter that tore the morning's tranquility asunder, both men were pronounced dead by the first responders, as per a report from CBS Los Angeles. The names of the victims have yet relinquished to the public, keeping the community in a hanging suspense for the narrative behind the metal and mayhem.
A Long Beach Police Department spokesperson highlighted that preliminary investigations suggest that "a male adult was driving his vehicle on the wrong side of the road when he collided with another vehicle," as told to KTLA. Investigators are painstakingly combing through the wreckage to piece together the events leading to the crash.
As a result of the ongoing investigation, the Long Beach Police Department has advised the public to avoid 7th Street between Bellflower Boulevard and Santiago Avenue.
