Upper Arlington residents, it's survey season again. The city has launched the 2025 Community Survey, in which 1,500 households, chosen at random, will be invited to share their views on a range of topics that will shape future policies and services. These topics include the standard of living, satisfaction with current municipal services, and opinions on economic development activities, to name a few.
According to a release from the City's official website, selected households will soon receive a letter containing a unique passcode, directing them to an online survey version. For those not digitally inclined or without convenient internet access, a hard copy will follow a couple of weeks later for households that haven't responded online. The release notes, and despite the change, making it past the web's screens, the City hopes to gather responses by mid-June to have a solid foundation of community feedback.
The survey, conducted by local market research firm Illuminology, is not just a barometer for resident satisfaction. It's also a tool for the City Council and city departments to check the pulse of various initiatives, set budget priorities for 2026, and, importantly, identify challenges in Upper Arlington.
Emma Speight, Community Affairs Director, emphasizes the importance of the survey. "As we move into the summer and the returning data is analyzed, the emerging opinions and themes will be used in a variety of ways," she stated on the city's official website. This data isn't just for show; it has a tangible impact on the direction of the City Council's decisions and could potentially lead to new and improved local services.
So, if you're among the lucky 1,500 Upper Arlington homes chosen, consider taking 12 minutes to complete the survey. Your voice could help shape your community's trajectory. For further survey details or questions, contact Emma Speight at 614-583-5045 or [email protected].
