Summer in Wake County is looking brighter with the launch of the "Color Our World" Summer Reading Program, bringing a palette of activities and reading fun to residents of all ages. Beginning this Saturday, Wake County Public Libraries are ready to roll out their 2025 initiative dedicated to keeping minds engaged and fostering family bonding through books. According to information obtained by the Wake County, the program invites kids, teens, and adults alike to immerse themselves in reading adventures until the curtain falls on August 23.
Participants are encouraged to pick up a tracker from any library branch starting on Saturday. With every day turning a new page, readers can color in a spot on their tracker for each day they read.
"Reading during the summer keeps minds active and brings families together," Sue Evans, chair of the Wake County Board of Commissioners, told Wake County. She sparks a call to action for the community, saying, "I encourage everyone to join in on the fun—whether you're reading aloud with your child, listening to an audiobook on a road trip or enjoying your own page-turner on the beach." As mentioned in the same news.
