Wisconsin's annual Spring Hearing has concluded, and the Department of Natural Resources (DNR) has released the results of public feedback on proposed changes to natural resource regulations. Topics included fishing bag limits for various waters, construction of accessible cabins on state-managed properties, and extending the fall turkey hunting season in certain zones. The full list of questions and responses is available on the Department of Natural Resources website.

According to the Department of Natural Resources, between April 14 and 16, more than 9,000 residents participated, either in person or online. Wisconsin Conservation Congress Chair Rob Bohmann said, "We had very good participation again for this year's spring hearings. I'm happy with the input and public discussions we had in person and online. It tells me the public is still interested and engaged in resource management in Wisconsin, and it is important to them."

The Spring Hearing is a forum that allows the public to provide input on proposed DNR regulations, advisory questions from the Conservation Congress, and citizen-submitted resolutions. The feedback informs decision-making by the Department of Natural Resources, the Natural Resources Board, and other relevant bodies.

Public input gathered during the Spring Hearing also contributed to discussions at the Conservation Congress’ annual convention earlier this month. Results will be forwarded to the Department of Natural Resources and Natural Resources Board in June for further review and possible action.
