As Baltimore grapples with the aftermath of severe thunderstorms, MARC train services are feeling the brunt with heavy disruptions, particularly on the Brunswick and Camden Lines. FOX Baltimore reported that fallen trees due to last night's tumultuous weather have led to suspended services and considerable delays, according to MTA officials. The chain of events culminated in most Brunswick Line equipment and crew members being stranded in Washington, unable to return to Baltimore in time for today's commute.
As a result, the Brunswick Line will not operate today, leaving commuters to seek alternatives. MTA has advised passengers from Frederick County to consider MTA Commuter Bus Routes 505 and 515, and those from Montgomery County are recommended to use RideOn, WMATA bus services, and Metrorail options.
In addition to transportation troubles, the storm has also caused damage to local power lines and trees. CBS News Baltimore reports that Thursday's storms, with violent winds, heavy downpours, and even hail, were enough to knock out power for tens of thousands. Anne Arundel and Prince George's Counties were particularly hard-hit, resulting in almost 51,000 Baltimore Gas and Electric customers being left in the dark.
