Eagle's Nest Realty Group LLC has clinched the role as lead developer for the much-anticipated redevelopment of the former JFK High School and Recreation Center site in Lee-Harvard. The group, with solid Cleveland roots, is composed of Fairmount Properties and The Presidents’ Council Real Estate Development LLC, along with other local firms. Mayor Justin M. Bibb expressed his sentiments, saying, "This is about more than bricks and mortar — it’s about people, pride, and progress," in a statement obtained by the City of Cleveland's official website.
The redevelopment aims to echo the community's historical significance while fostering future prosperity. Brian Hall, a distinguished JFK alumnus and a key figure in Eagle's Nest Realty Group, emphasized the importance of this project in a community so rich in excellence and history. "We are committed to developing a vibrant, inclusive destination that reflects the history and aspirations of the Southeast Side," Hall told the official city website.
Harking back to the collaborative Lee-Harvard Community Plan, the Eagle’s Nest initiative is set to bring forth a mixed-use district designed for walkability and inclusivity. A cultural and civic hub, including the JFK George E. Mills Gallery of Excellence, will pay homage to the neighborhood's legacy and aspires to act as a beacon for community storytelling and engagement.
With Fairmount Properties at its side, the Presidents’ Council is building on a successful partnership that previously brought a new grocery store and residential options to the Fairfax neighborhood. "Fairmount Properties is thrilled to be partnering again with The Presidents’ Council real estate group," said Adam Fishman, principal of Fairmount Properties, according to the Cleveland official announcement.
Demolition of the old school and recreation center is complete, and the Eagle's Nest team is now in the planning and design phase.
