
A local DC man was taken into custody yesterday, accused in the grim case of a woman found dead in a dumpster last month, federal officials said. The suspect, identified as 58-year-old Richard Dyson, faces second-degree murder charges, armed in the killing of 62-year-old Donnella Bryan around April 15, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office.
During his arraignment before Superior Court Magistrate Judge Robert J. Hildum today Dyson maintained his innocence, pleading not guilty, and despite the gravity of the charge and the suspicion bearing down on him, the Judge ordered he be held without bond until the forthcoming preliminary hearing set for June 18, which will unfold under the gavel of Judge Michael Ryan, in the same document released by the U.S. Attorney's Office reports.
Earlier on the 19th of April, authorities responded to a distressing scene where Donnella Bryan’s lifeless body was discovered discarded inside a dumpster located on the 1600 block of Maryland Avenue, Northeast. Per the statement by the Metropolitan Police Department, provided after they arrived at approximately 8:00 a.m., Bryan was pronounced dead at the scene by DC Fire and EMS, whose examinations found her devoid of life’s vital signs.
