Denver is about to host its first-ever Pride Marriage Marathon this Friday, just in time to kick off the city's Pride Weekend celebrations, according to the Denver Clerk & Recorder's office. The event, which invites couples to either get married or renew their vows, aids in underscoring Denver’s commitment to inclusivity and its vibrant LGBTQ+ community. Paul López, Denver Clerk & Recorder, expressed his enthusiasm, stating, "We're thrilled to bring the Marriage Marathon to Pride weekend," adding that "This is so much more than a celebration; it's a reaffirmation of our commitment to equality and to uphold every person’s right to marry whom they love, Love Always Wins," as per Denver Clerk & Recorder's Office.
The nuptial festivities are set to take place on June 27 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., with the Webb Municipal Building at 201 W. Colfax Ave. serving as the starting point for couples to pick up a marriage license before walking over to the Denver Elections Division Building at 200 W. 14th Ave., where officiants will be available to conduct ceremonies, there's no need for appointments, everything streamlined for couples' convenience. Besides making a powerful statement, those participating in the wedding marathon also have a chance to win a range of free items, which include a photography session at the Center for Colorado Women's History and dinner for two at Tarasco’s Restaurant, among other valuable giveaways.
For couples looking to add a memorable twist to the commencement of Pride Weekend 2025, this event provides an apt beginning. The giveaway extends the celebration with an array of prizes listed by the Denver Clerk & Recorder's office, promising generous hospitality from local businesses. Winners could find themselves dining at Tarasco’s Restaurant, visiting the Denver Zoo with friends, or cherishing a $100 gift card from Cuba Cuba, among other items designed to make the celebration even more special. These local partnerships reflect a community eager to support and embrace love in all its forms.
Participants won't need to pre-register for the event. It's structured to encourage spontaneity and joy in the heart of Denver's Pride festivities, attracting couples eager to take that heartfelt leap of commitment or cherish their existing bonds even more, no appointments are necessary, just come with your partner and the desire to celebrate, and you become part of something larger, a collective expression of love and equality. And if that weren't enough incentive to join, the prospect of post-marriage perks like a coveted $100 gift card to Leven Deli, or a caffeine fix courtesy of a coupon from La Brewjula Café, further entices the celebrants.
