A suspect with a history of violent crimes was arrested after a brief chase in Inglewood, following a nearly two-year investigation into a brutal armed carjacking incident, Culver City Police Department (CCPD) officials reported. According to KTLA, this past Tuesday, Aaron Flenoy, a 24-year-old Inglewood resident with an extensive criminal background, was noticed by CCP officers while behind the wheel of a vehicle. When officers attempted to pull him over, Flenoy initiated the pursuit by refusing to stop.
The pursuit, which involved Flenoy, an adult female, and two children inside the car, came to an abrupt end when Flenoy ran a red light and collided with another vehicle. Flenoy, along with the adult female identified as 30-year-old Timberline Davenport, also of Inglewood, sustained minor injuries, as per KTLA. The two children were taken to a local hospital for evaluation. Details of their conditions have not been released. The press release by CCPD further noted that both adults were booked for felony child endangerment, among other charges.
According to the Culver City Police Department's official statement, Flenoy was identified as a suspect in an armed carjacking incident dating back to August 3, 2023. At that time, Flenoy was already on parole for robbery and had been charged with carjacking, two counts of assault with a semi-automatic firearm, and possessing a firearm as an ex-felon. A $5.7 million bail arrest warrant was out for his arrest.
The California Highway Patrol is taking over the investigation into an accident that occurred during the pursuit. Any inquiries regarding this incident can be directed to Culver City Police Department Public Information Officer Jennifer Atenza, as detailed in the press release.
