In a recent acknowledgment of tireless dedication to public safety and community resilience, Mike Alexander was honored by Keller's Community Emergency Response Team (CERT), where he was bestowed with the honorary title of President Emeritus. The recognition came during the team's June meeting, according to a post made by Keller Public Safety on social media.
Mike's journey with Keller CERT began over two decades ago when he introduced the CERT concept to the city of Keller. His involvement was critical in the foundational stages of the program, which now serves as an infrastructure of trained volunteers. These individuals provide support to local officers and firefighters during emergencies and community events. Despite the program's evolution over the years, Mike's initial push for its establishment remains a cornerstone of its identity.
The Keller Public Safety's post illuminated Mike's contributions, stating, "We are so proud to spotlight Mike for his decades of service — not only as a leader, instructor and advocate for Keller CERT, but also through his contributions to the city’s Zoning Board of Adjustment, his church and beyond." His diverse involvement throughout the community extends the influence of his leadership beyond CERT and into various facets of local governance and service.
