If you're in Las Vegas, get ready for rising temperatures through Monday. The National Weather Service says the heat will be above average and could last into next week. However, a weather system from the east might bring some thunderstorms, mainly in Mohave County.
While skies over Las Vegas are clear for now, moisture is expected to move in as early as Tuesday. A high-pressure system near the Four Corners is creating the right conditions, although the National Weather Service says, "There is still a noticeable slowing trend with the arrival of moisture/onset of precipitation chances." Forecasts are still being worked out, so keep your expectations flexible.
For pilots and those at Harry Reid International Airport, daily wind patterns are expected to stay steady. The National Weather Service says, "Winds to generally follow typical, daily patterns throughout the TAF period." Despite the usual breezes, temperatures are expected to hit over 100°F in the afternoons, making it a good time to stay by the pool or indoors.
According to the National Weather Service, Regional travelers and drivers can expect normal wind conditions, though there may be gusts up to 20 knots, especially near Barstow, where "westerly gusts are likely to exceed 20 knots this evening before weakening overnight." So, whether you're flying or driving, the wind shouldn’t cause much trouble, with mostly clear skies and VFR conditions expected.
