Las Vegas is expected to reach its highest temperatures of the week today, with highs 3 to 7 degrees above normal. Starting on Tuesday, temperatures will begin to decrease gradually across Southern Nevada. According to the National Weather Service, "Increasing moisture will bring a slight chance for afternoon showers and thunderstorms to Mohave County beginning Tuesday, with coverage expanding Wednesday and Thursday." Some storms may produce dry lightning and gusty winds due to dry air near the surface.
Harry Reid International Airport is expected to have "Mostly clear skies with just a few mid-level clouds during the afternoon," with south-southwest winds in the afternoon and gusts around 15–20 knots. Temperatures may reach around 107°F. Some mid-level clouds may also be seen around Las Vegas and the Owens Valleys, as reported by the National Weather Service.
By the end of the week, a low pressure system from Southern Nevada and Southeastern California will increase storm activity as it interacts with moisture. This pattern will shift by Friday when "As the SoCal low lifts inland, drier southwesterly flow will push in by Friday with dry conditions resuming and breezy southwesterly winds." Wind gusts are expected to range from 15 to 25 knots, with some stronger gusts near KBIH and KDAG. Regional spotters are "encouraged to report any significant weather or impacts according to standard operating procedures," as stated by the National Weather Service.
