
A crash involving two semi-trucks caused major delays on northbound Interstate 15 near Speedway Boulevard early Monday morning. According to FOX5 Vegas, the incident happened around 5:40 a.m. when one of the trucks jack-knifed and caught fire.
A fire caused the emergency closure of all northbound lanes at mile marker 54, as reported by FOX5 Vegas. Two people were injured; one was taken to the hospital with unspecified injuries, while the other had non-life-threatening injuries. Traffic was redirected to Speedway Boulevard during the response.
News 3 LV said the northbound lanes of the interstate were closed to allow emergency crews to respond to a crash. Nevada State Police advised drivers to take alternate routes due to heavy traffic. The fire from the crash has been put out, but the interstate remains closed for cleanup and safety checks. Authorities are still confirming the number and extent of injuries.
